Title I Reading Interventionist
Upon graduating from Loras, I had the opportunity to work at Mazzuchelli Middle School as a Title I Reading Interventionist from January-May 2015. I worked with students grades six through eight in small group or a one-on-one learning environment.
First, I tested the students using the Analytical Reading Inventory (ARI). Once their instructional level was found, I used the program Zoom-In for my lessons. This program has different leveled books that focus on a specific comprehension skill. The books are made up of several different passages coinciding with the comprehension skill. With my students, we worked on making predictions, main idea/supporting details, and sequence. Lessons also included vocabulary, fluency, summarizing, and writing practice.
The artifacts that I attached below include my daily classroom routine, progress reports, and resources/anchor charts that I created.
